Good evening my friends,

Everything is based on mind, is led by mind, is fashioned by mind. If you speak and act with a polluted mind, suffering will follow you, as the wheels of the oxcart follow the footsteps of the ox. Everything is based on mind, is led by mind, is fashioned by mind. If you speak and act with a pure mind, happiness will follow you, as a shadow clings to a form.

Do you think abolishing UPSR and PMR is a good move?
Happy Sunday everyone!!
Feels great on Sunday morning? Well, I do cause I just came back from taking morning walk at a park nearby. However, felt a bit annoying due to the ammonia gas that were released to the air by the factory nearby.
Today, would like to discuss & gather your views on move to abolish UPSR & PMR. This has been the heat topics for the past 2 weeks or perhaps more. Almost daily, I will come across these topic in the newspaper. So what's your view towards abolishing these examination?
I've been through these exams in the 1990s and in my opinion, UPSR & PMR should not be abolished as there will be no performance measurement for the students. How well or how bad are our students' understanding & applications in exam?
The UPSR & PMR have become tried and tested national year-end assessments for many years. This sets an important benchmark for all schools to gauge themselves by and children lost their directions excelling in school.
UPSR & PMR should be maintained but questions should be designed according to what you desire your end-product, the student, to be. There should be a more conscious effort to improve the quality required in project work that supplements examinations to instil creativity, innovation and quality thinking in students.
Naturally, more time would be made available for other activity-based pursuits and hobbies that make children more rounded in character.
What says you?
